Paddington Bear has been at the heart of fundraising for Action Medical Research ever since his creator, Michael Bond, met the charity’s founder, Duncan Guthrie, in 1976.
Paddington Bear always likes to help wherever he can and so, after chewing over the matter with Mr Bond, he agreed to support Action Medical Research as the charity’s official mascot.
Paddington Bear’s cheery face has helped us attract thousands of new supporters who together have raised millions of pounds to help create a healthier future for babies and children.
Bring Your Bear

This is our key fundraising event for children at nurseries and schools. Here’s how it works: children take their favourite bear or soft toy to school or nursery for the day and donate £1 to our Touching Tiny Lives appeal which raises funds for research into premature birth and pregnancy complications.
The event takes place throughout June to celebrate Paddington’s birthday on 25th June. If it suits you better you can chose another month.

Limited edition Paddington prints
We have the perfect gift for any fan of Paddington Bear; a set of three exclusive limited edition prints of previously unpublished watercolour paintings of Paddington by his original illustrator, Peggy Fortnum, signed by Paddington’s creator Michael Bond.
‘Off on Holiday’, ‘Away for the Day’ and ‘A Sticky Passage’ were created over ten years ago and the few remaining prints will raise much needed funds for two of Michael’s favourite charities; Action Medical Research and ReadWrite.
The original paintings were signed by Peggy and to complete the picture, Paddington’s creator and leading author, Michael Bond O.B.E. personally signed and numbered every print in this special edition, making them rare and highly collectible items.
Each image is strictly limited worldwide to an edition of 495 prints, produced to the highest standards of the Fine Arts Trade Guild and every print bears the Guild’s stamp.
Originally on sale in Selfridges of London at £225 each, we are delighted to offer the set of 3 for just for £295 (+ postage, packing and insurance). Prints are supplied unmounted, allowing you to mount and frame to your own taste.
