The first ever ScotPLOD will challenge you and your team, on this spectacular endurance walk, to negotiate the 50km route. The name of the game for the team captains will be to get their team to finish as high up the ranking as possible. Points will be awarded in line with your finishing position and by checking in at designated checkpoints. There will be a few surprises en route with opportunities to build your points total further. All of this will require
teamwork, strategy, and intelligence.
We have designed a spectacular Tweed Valley route, which will take you through some of the best country the Scottish Border Region has to offer. Negotiating wooded valleys, forest trails and on to the high ground for sunrise, we promise you a tough, beautiful, and unforgettable experience.
As team captain you will need to head a walking team of at least five members who you think are best suited to get through the night and day to cross the finish line as a team. You will also need a support vehicle and driver to greet you at checkpoints, keep you fed and watered and in good working order!
The Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue Team and Action Medical Research have developed this very special team walking challenge. We know that you will have a most fantastic time, but don't forget that you are supporting Action Medical Research and the Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue Team. By entering you are accepting the additional challenge to raise a minimum team sponsorship of £1000 to support the life saving work undertaken by both of these charities who work tirelessly to make our lives safer and healthier.
We always like to celebrate achievement in style and we know you will need to rest your weary bones in comfortable surroundings. So, once you have crossed the finish line, we will transfer to the fabulous MacDonald Cardrona Hotel where you will be able to get a couple of hours rest before our celebration dinner where the full results will and special awards will be revealed.
