Volunteering
If you have some time to give, why not support Action Medical Research by becoming part of our national network of volunteers?
If you’ve always wanted to put on a fashion show, organise a sports event, hold a coffee morning or host an evening extravaganza, then please get in touch! The majority of our volunteers support us by organising a wide range of fundraising events, from bike rides to balls. To find out what’s going on in your area, or to contact your local Community Fundraising Manager, see our regional events pages!
You can organise an event on your own, with friends or may be able to join one of our existing fundraising groups. No experience necessary — all you need is enthusiasm!
We also have other opportunities for volunteers including:
- Joining a speaking team
- We are currently developing a team of public speakers who are prepared to go into local clubs and societies to promote the work of Action Medical Research. No experience is necessary as training will be given — please get in touch!
- PR co-ordinators
- If you have experience of writing press releases, promoting events or speaking in public then we’d love to hear from you.
- Administrative assistants
- We have a community fundraising team of nine throughout the country. Could you help them with their administration? From data entry and stuffing envelopes to spreadsheet management, please let us know if you might be able to help.
- Area co-ordinators
- Are you a friendly face and ready to provide a helping hand? Our area co-ordinators support staff and volunteers by researching local contacts, holding stocks of materials and being there to help committees at their busiest times.
To find out more, contact our Volunteer Coordinator for details of specific opportunities in your area.
