About Action

At Action Medical Research, we’re on a mission to save and change children’s lives through medical research, developing treatments, vaccinations and cures.

A UK-wide charity, we’ve been funding medical breakthroughs for nearly 70 years, helping to beat polio, fight meningitis, prevent stillbirths and develop ultrasound scanning in pregnancy. Our work is now needed more than ever, including in the battle against COVID-19.

About the role

Reporting to the Director of Research, the role will help to provide administrative support for the Research Department and the Director of Research and coordinate the use of the research database. You will assist with grant round administration, correspondence with researchers and the maintenance of the research database, relevant records and files for the department. 

Applicants should have a science degree with excellent IT skills including use of databases and MS Office platforms and an interest in information technology. 

You will be well organised, with proven ability to manage processes and work to tight deadlines at the same time as showing attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are vital. Experience of research grant administration would be an advantage.
