We’re asking you to Go Purple in support of Action’s campaign for babies born too soon – fundraise with your friends, family, and colleagues throughout November and raise money to fund vital research that could help babies being born too soon
Every year in the UK, around 60,000 babies are born prematurely. Sadly, over 1,000 babies die as a result of being born too soon. And globally, premature birth is the biggest killer of children under 5.
We know through medical research we can stop the devastation caused by premature birth - so we're fighting back!

Get into the baking spirit and hold a purple themed bake-off at work or school! Don't forget to crown a star baker before selling everybody's yummy entries.

Swap the uniform or workwear for a purple themed dress down day. Ask for a small donation and best purple outfit wins a prize!

Organise a quiz at your local pub or in the office using our Big Purple quiz pack! Charge an entry fee and organise a prize for the winners

How to donate your fundraising
It’s quick and easy to pay in the money you’ve worked hard to raise. Just choose one of the ways below. If you’ve set up a fundraising page you don’t need to do anything. The money you’ve raised will come directly to us!
Use our online form
Go to our secure online donation form to pay in the money you’ve raised by credit or debit card.
By post or bank
Post a cheque, payable to ‘Action Medical Research’, or get in touch for our bank account details and transfer your fundraising to us directly. Call 01403 327440 or email gopurple@action.org.uk.

Luka's Story
"Premature birth can happen to anyone – there’s just not enough research, yet it’s one of the biggest killers of babies in the world."
Lucy’s son, Luka, was born at just 30 weeks, weighing 3lbs 9oz and was immediately taken to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Luka seemed to thrive, despite being so very small, but aged three weeks, he became extremely poorly. Luka developed the life-threatening bowel disease necrotising enterocolitis and needed lifesaving surgery.
The NICU journey was a journey through hell but we are lucky enough to have our baby home and healthy now.
