About Lana
Little Lana was born on the 8th March 1999, three months early and weighing just two pounds. So beautiful, so perfect with long elegant but tiny fingers and sweet little button nose and the biggest smile.
Lana's tiny face would light up with the broadest most beautiful smile. We enjoyed our cuddles and you loved kicking your legs in the bath. You touched all of our lives little Lana, you were our little miracle. You were so brave and battled against many obstacles, but so sadly died suddenly and unexpectedly at just 14 weeks old. You will be with us all, in our hearts, forever.
For Lana's tenth anniversary, I completed ten events either running or cycling to help to raise money and awareness for the stand up for tiny lives campaign, researching the causes and effects of premature birth. The focus of these events and the wonderful support from everyone really helped myself, Jon and the boys tremendously. It also spurred me on to do the Brighton Marathon, last April.
I hope to continue to raise money and awareness for tiny lives.
Thanks to my lovely family and your support I ran the London Marathon on 17th April 2011. It was really tough!It was a very hot day. I got cramp in my calf at 19 miles and thought I would have to stop. But all your support and my little Lana helped me to shuffle the last steps up The Mall. I was thrillled to finish. The crowds were amazing. Thanks to Rachel and Alex for being at the finish line.
Lana was with me every step,as was all the wonderful support I have received from everyone especially my lovely family and fab friends.
My next venue was the Liverpool marathon in October last year. My knees did hold out!
30th June 2012, was the Sefton Triathlon.I felt like I was going as fast as I could! I was gasping for breath as my bike helmet was too tight! I was so proud of Finn and Joe who both did brilliantly. Our coach (Ethan) did a great job. So lucky to have such a lovely family! And very lucky to have the wonderful support that you all give us, family and friends.
Here we go again!! I am going to run the Brighton Marathon, on the 14th April 2013. Training is going well and now I have a little friend Alfie (crazy dog) to join me. Means I can have a few breaks on the run to stop and clean up after him!!
I am always so touched by your generosity and kindness.So a great big thanks to everyone for all your support. It will help many tiny babies and hopefully give them a healthy future.
