Action Medical Research is delighted to have the support of Surrey-based Bridgehead Software Ltd, based in Ashtead, who have taken part in a number of fundraising challenges for the children’s charity, most notably the annual ‘Race The Sun’ series, who to date have raised just over £41,000 for Action.
Their first event was in 2013. They were looking for an outdoor teambuilding experience and came across this event organised by Action and have been hooked ever since.
Even the unfortunate cancellation of events in 2020 this didn’t deter the intrepid eventers who took on personal challenges such as 100-mile cycling challenges across the South Downs and self-styled Tour de Yorkshire.
In 2021 Bridgehead have once again entered a team into Race the Sun Brecon and there are once again personal challenges such as a London to Brighton ride later participation in Action’s Vyking Ride in September.
Once we read more about the charity and learned about the vital work it does, we were keen to get more involved.”

The ‘Race The Sun’ events are run in various locations across the country; involving teams cycling, hiking and canoeing their way around 50 mile courses from sunrise to sunset.
Bridgehead have had teams compete in six different ‘Race the Sun’ events so far and one year even had colleagues join from their US office near Boston, MA.
