Action Medical Research’s events (Action Events) take place to raise money to fund vital research to help children and babies.
We understand that entering an event is important to you and that sometimes circumstances can change, meaning you can no longer take part in an Action Event. Therefore, we have created this policy which allows us and you to be as flexible with your event entry as possible, whilst aiming to minimise the risk of the funds raised for charity.
Withdrawals & Refunds
You have the right to cancel your registration within 14 days of registering for an Action Event without giving any reason. To exercise the right to cancel, you must inform us of your decision by emailing events@action.org.uk with a clear statement requesting withdrawal and a refund. Upon receiving a cancellation request, Action will promptly refund your entry fee via the payment method used to pay the entry fee, less the service fees from Njuko (the registration platform).
Transfers
Event entries are transferable between people. If you’d like to transfer your entry in an Action Event to another person you must notify us 6 weeks prior to the event date by emailing events@action.org.uk and include the individual’s name and email address who you would like to transfer your entry to. The individual who you’d like to transfer to will still need to register themselves for the event with a free entry code in order to take part.
We are also willing to allow you to transfer to another Action Event taking place in the same year as the event you were originally registered for. If the new event is at a higher price than the original booking, then we will ask you to pay the price difference. No refunds will be given if the new event is at a lower price and this type of transfer is only permitted once during the year.
Deferrals
Event entries can be deferred to the following year, once only, for the same Action Event type (e.g. a RIDE or Race the Sun event) In order to defer your entry you must notify Action by emailing events@action.org.uk 3 months prior to the event date. Any deferral requests received after that may or may not be considered (depending on the point of notification and the event).
From the moment we begin to organise an event, we start to incur costs. Your entry fee is invested in the cost of organising the event – everything from risk assessments and safety measures, signage to toilets, from marketing to safety pins. Organising any event requires a considerable amount of forward planning, risk and expense. So we hope you understand our policy as above and that we see you on an Action Event soon.
