Action Medial Research is excited to announce that Amy Williams MBE, the British former skeleton racer and Olympic gold medallist has joined our BORN TOO SOON campaign as an Action ambassador!
Amy explained: “I’m so proud to be an ambassador for Action’s BORN TOO SOON campaign. The campaign really hits a note with me. My twin sister and I were born prematurely, and my Mum was a midwife who specialised with premature babies so it’s an issue I’ve always been aware of.
“But now, having my own little one and another on the way it really makes you realise the risks, and why research in this area is just so important. So please, join me, think about how you can help fight back against premature birth and let’s make some brilliant research happen!"
Action launched the campaign earlier this year.
Head of Individual Giving Jo Mainwood said: “We are absolutely delighted to have Amy on board. Action is extremely fortunate to have some amazing supporters, many of whom have the opportunity to help us promote our cause to new audiences.

Our BORN TOO SOON campaign shines a spotlight on premature birth. Sadly, over 1,000 babies die each year in the UK due to premature birth. Globally, it’s the biggest killer of children under 5.
So we’re fighting back. Together, we can raise £1 million by 2020 to fund groundbreaking medical research that could go on to benefit millions.
