Davina McCall’s annual fundraising dinner for Action Medical Research is on target to raise more than £50,000!

The TV star hosted her 13th annual ‘Dine with Davina’ event in Southampton on Friday 8 November.

Speaking afterwards Davina said: “What an incredible event! It was so lovely to see everyone letting their hair down and helping to raise funds for Action.

“I can’t believe this was our thirteenth! It seems like only yesterday that we did this for the first time. I’m already looking forward to next year and hope to see everyone there.”

More than 330 hundred ladies attended the fundraising dinner at St Mary’s Stadium.

During the drinks reception, they all got to meet and have their photo taken with Davina before sitting down for the three course dinner.

As well as fun party games and showbiz anecdotes throughout the afternoon, BBC Bargain Hunt’s John Cameron hosted a charity auction with lots including a dress and pair of shoes donated by Davina, a tour of the Good Morning Britain and Lorraine studios and a chance to have their name in a Peter James Novel.

There was also live music from soul singer James Franklyn and a DJ.

Action’s Community Fundraiser for the South East – and the event organiser - Ruth Dean said she was delighted to see so many guests: “I would like to thank everyone who came for their generous support and for making it such a fun atmosphere.

“We’re still collecting all the funds, but it looks like we could have raised around £53,000 which is just incredible!”

Dine with Davina was kindly supported by NEXT.
