The Duke of Edinburgh announces he will no longer carry out public engagements from autumn 2017

Phil Hodkinson, Chair of children’s charity Action Medical Research, said: “We are extremely grateful to our Patron, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, for his tireless support of Action Medical Research over the past 62 years.

"The Duke of Edinburgh has supported the charity since its very early days and has generously hosted many receptions where Action supporters have been delighted to experience his continuing commitment and enthusiasm for the vital research the charity funds. We wish him all the best as he retires from royal duties this autumn.”
