The Raptör ride returns in July 2025

July 2025 will mark the sixth edition of Raptör, the insurance industry’s dedicated charity bike ride which has now raised £1.22 million in support of Action Medical Research.

The 2024 event alone brought in over £224,000, funding critical research aimed at saving and transforming the lives of seriously ill babies and children.

Proudly supported by founding partner Ki, Raptör continues to attract sponsorship from leading names across the insurance sector, including Brit, SCOR, Lockton, Everest, Verisk and Aspen Insurance. This year, the charity is also pleased to welcome additional sponsors JS Held, Argenta and Chaucer.

The 2025 ride will see around 90 cyclists representing a range of insurance companies. Over the course of four fully supported days, riders will journey more than 300 miles from London to Roubaix. The route combines a battlefield tour with iconic stretches of road from the Spring Classics, including Flanders and Roubaix. The cyclists will trace the French coastline past Dunkirk, passing numerous WWII landmarks and battlefields before finishing with a triumphant lap at the legendary Roubaix Velodrome.

Mark Allan, CEO of Ki Insurance, said:

"Action Medical Research does fantastic work funding vital medical research to improve the lives of children. Ki is proud to be the lead sponsor of the Raptör ride for its sixth year, and we are very much looking forward to the challenge – as well as taking in the historical sites of France along the way."

Lucy Holloway, Corporate Events Fundraiser at Action Medical Research, added:

"We are thrilled to see Raptör continue to grow, and we expect this to be a bumper year. We’re especially excited as our Raptor riders take on the battlefield tour for the first time. Thanks to our incredible sponsors – both longstanding supporters like Ki, Brit, SCOR and Lockton and newer partners such as JS Held, Argenta and Chaucer. Everyone’s valued support makes it possible for us to continue funding vital research to help sick and disabled babies, children and young people."

Action Medical Research is a UK-wide charity dedicated to funding research to combat diseases that devastate children’s lives. Since 1952, the charity has contributed to major medical breakthroughs, including the introduction of the first polio vaccines in the UK, the development of ultrasound in pregnancy, and testing the rubella vaccine. Today, the charity is investing in research into premature birth, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, scarlet fever, brain cancer and other rare and serious conditions.
