Action Medical Research is delighted to announce that One Stop Stores Limited has raised almost £250,000 for the charity since 2011!
Action is the leading UK-wide charity saving and changing children’s lives through medical research.
We organise a number of outdoor fundraising events including treks, social events and cycling sportives.
Over the years, a number of One Stop staff have taken on some of the Action’s physical challenges including marathons and bike rides.
But it is their annual in-store collection campaigns which have really helped boost their tally. For one month every year since 2012, branches across the UK have proudly displayed Action collection boxes on their countertops.
More than 750 stores took part in June 2017 with many organising their own additional fundraising activities. Collectively they raised more than £30,000.
Toby Tennant is the Action’s Head of Relationship Funding: “This is an absolutely amazing milestone. We have been working with One Stop since 2011 and they have consistently raised really impressive sums for us year after year.
“On behalf of the charity I would like to thank One Stop, their customers and their staff for all their work and continued support.
“For every research project Action funds there’s another one we have to turn away – simply because of a lack of funds. Every penny raised really does make a difference in our ongoing fight for little lives.”

Action Medical Research is a UK-wide children’s charity which funds desperately needed research to tackle the diseases that devastate the lives of so many of our children. It has been funding medical breakthroughs since it began in 1952 including helping to introduce the first polio vaccines in the UK, developing the use of ultrasound in pregnancy and testing the rubella vaccine.
The charity is currently funding research into conditions including asthma, prematurity, epilepsy, meningitis, cerebral palsy, brain cancer and some rare and distressing conditions.
