Diamond-Blackfan anaemia (DBA) is a very rare genetic disease that leads to severe anaemia that can have a life-changing impact on children’s lives.
The condition causes fatigue, breathlessness and headaches – and in more severe cases poor growth and delayed puberty. It can sadly also cause life-threatening complications such as heart defects and a greater risk of developing cancer later in life.
Currently there is no cure, so children like Finley rely on long-term treatment, but these can have dangerous side-effects, including organ failure and infection.
That's why we urgently need to raise £100,000 to fund research that could lead to life-changing new treatments for children with DBA.

Finley's fight
Since the day he was born Finley has endured more than 100 blood transfusions, countless tests and two major operations, including open-heart surgery, in his fight against Diamond-Blackfan anaemia. Finley never complains or lets his challenges define him, but his parents, Ellie and Julian, dream of a cure.
