The charity is striving to develop treatments and cures to help children affected by rare diseases, as well as funding research into conditions including asthma, epilepsy and premature birth.
World champion track and road racing cyclist, Lizzie Deignan MBE, says: “Action Medical Research is renowned in the cycling community for putting on a very special and well organised event. The charity funds a wide range of incredibly important research which makes a real difference to the lives of children and families impacted by disease and disability. The Champs Dinner is a great opportunity to make connections with people from across UK cycling and help to raise much needed funds to drive forward medical breakthroughs.”
The event is sponsored by Garmin, who make products that are engineered on the inside, for life on the outside, accountancy and business advisory firm BDO LLP, Lifeplus, a holistic wellbeing company who formulate and manufacture high quality nutritional supplements, sports nutrition and personal care products.
