About Charley
Our little Charley was born on 11th of May 2007. He was born with a genetic illness called 'Trisomy 13 Mosiac'. This meant that parts of his body and brain had not been formed properly, and unknown to us at the time, would ultimately end with his passing. Charley fought for 16 weeks, having to endure loads of very painful treatment at both Great Ormond Street and then Addenbrooks Hospitals. Charley's illness was very rare, so no one could tell us just how long we would have him in our lives, or what treatment, if any Charley could have.
Charley touched the hearts of everyone who met him. His bravery for a little man, who was obviously suffering badly endeared him to all. Charley passed away on September 1st 2007 peacefully at home with his Mummy and Daddy. I will be riding in Charley's name and honour and hope you will help me to raise lots of money to help other children in memory of my little man. OUR ANGEL AMONGST ANGELS. If you sponsored me to do the Essex 100, you will see how the money you raised helped this great medical research charity dedicated to helping babies and children. I am trying to up the total we have raise so far to at least £1700 by the end of this year, so your continuing support is truly appreciated.
