Garmin and children’s charity Action Medical Research are excited to announce the annual Ride Out will return this year as the ‘Garmin Ride’, catering to even more cyclists by offering a new gravel route and virtual ride, as well as the traditional road ride. The event will be attended by Garmin sponsored pro-cyclists.
Kicking off the Garmin Ride on Thursday 7 October, cyclists can ‘Ride In’ on Zwift, alongside a cycling legend. Those taking part will be eligible for a Garmin Ride In Badge. Participants who choose to donate to Action Medical Research’s COVID-19 children’s appeal will also be in with the chance of winning some amazing Garmin prizes.
Garmin ‘Ride Out’ will take place on Friday 8 October. Starting from St. Giles House, you can choose to either Ride Out on gravel or road. Riders will hear from and ride alongside some of the world’s top pro-cyclists.
Starting from the beautiful St. Giles House in Wimborne, East Dorset, cyclists can take on either the 50-mile road or gravel route. Both routes will take you through the New Forest, offering one of the most scenic cycling experiences in the country, a stunning blend of forest roads, quaint villages, tree-lined bends and far-reaching views.
Each rider will receive a bespoke Garmin Ride 2021 jersey and the first 100 riders to register and donate whilst registering will be entered into a competition to win a set of Rally Power Pedals.
Sarah Stevenson, Senior Partnership Development Manager, Action Medical Research, said: “Our COVID-19 Children’s Appeal is helping us better understand how the pandemic is impacting children, but there’s still more work to be done. All funds raised from the Garmin Ride including donations, entry costs and raffle proceeds will go towards funding research to help protect current and future generations of children.”
