World Gaming Day is an inclusive fun event for everyone - a bit like a coffee morning with a twist!
Sign up to host a gaming day with drinks and snacks. Simply invite your friends and family, play games and ask them to donate to your GivePenny fundraising page to participate. It's that easy!
What you need to know
When: Saturday 22nd October (or any day in October that suits you best)
Where: Your living room / bedroom or local gaming bar
Cost: It's free to take part, but you do need to raise money to fund vital medical research to help children. We suggest asking participants to donate £10 each. Incentives can be anything you want - £1 means the next round your opponent is one-handed, or 50p and you'll add a song of their choice to the Spotify playlist. All of these can really add up!
Who: Can anyone take part? YES! This is for gamers to grannies, Pacmen to Lara Crofts - this is for everyone.
Streaming: Feel free to stream your gaming day if that's what you're into. We have streaming overlays available and you can set challenges and incentives.
No console: No worries! World Gaming day is all about getting together and having fun, so if you don't have a console don't feel left out - how about card or board games! Design the fundraiser that works for you - as long as you’re gathering a group of people together and playing games to raise money for Action!
Fundraising: We suggest each host asks their guests to give £10 for participating,.
World Gaming Day is for everyone, regardless of age, background or ability. Die-hard gamers can take part, but it is also open to first time gamers or those who fancy trying something a bit different as they raise vital funds. If you are under 18 years old, then we will assume you and your parents/guardians are happy for you to be involved in any gaming activity you take part in, as part World Gaming Day in support of Action Medical Research. You will also need an adult to set up your fundraising page.
