Cycling event-themed challenge
Every year APH puts on a themed challenge to raise funds for a chosen charity - APHers log their cycling, running and hiking miles on Strava to contribute to the 12 month goal of 25,000 miles. For each mile completed, APH donates £1 to Action.
The APH Challenge takes it's inspiration from the Tour of Britain (a well-known pro cycling event) that winds its way around the UK. Staff update their mileage progress on the APH Tour of Britain map in the office and compete each month to be at the top of the leaderboard. At the end of each 'stage', of which there were six, they celebrate with a food stop - usually Pizza!
Chief Executive Nick Caunter led by example by taking on the gruelling Lands’ End to John O’Groats ride in September 2018, raising over £3,000 extra for Action.
In addition APH staff hold a variety of fundraisers throughout the year, including raffles, dress-up days and participation in various organised charity activities such as Action’s Davina 100 ride in Sussex.
