They have been supporting Action Medical Research since 2016 and have raised in excess of £70,000 by allowing the charity to organise and benefit from The Willmott Dixon Classic cycling event.
The route of the event was designed by Action’s cycling experts to celebrate Willmott Dixon's roots, with cyclists going through Bassingbourn village where John Willmott founded the company in 1852 with his first workshop. Rick Willmott, Group Chief Executive and a direct descendent of John Willmott, says:
“This ride will raise important funds to support the excellent work of Action Medical Research and I’m delighted we are linking it with our history to give riders, who will comprise of staff, clients, consultants and our suppliers, a chance to see where it all started for us over 160 years ago.”
The Willmott Dixon Classic
The Willmott Dixon Classic is a cycling adventure in the glorious countryside supporting Action Medical Research. The inaugural ride offers three fantastic routes that vary between 22 to 90 miles! Each of our ride options involves lovely quiet roads, picturesque villages and rolling hills.
We have had a brilliant time over the last few years, getting hundreds of riders in the saddle whilst raising vital funds for Action Medical Research.
