Calling all home heroes - the 2.6 Challenge for Action Medical Research awaits you!
From Sunday 26th join thousands of others with one of the nations biggest virtual fundraising event of the year!
For many charities like us, 26th April would have been the biggest fundraising day of the year thanks to the London Marathon, which raised £66.4 million for charities in 2019. Instead the streets will be empty. In response, Save The UK’s Charities has set a nationwide virtual 2.6 challenge event to raise vital funds in these difficult times.
So we invite you to join in and get fundraising for Action Medical Research by dreaming up any activity using 2.6 or 26 as your inspiration!
What can you do?! Literally anything! Get creative!
Walk, run, skip, hop, ride, scoot 2.6 miles or km.
Cook, read, backflip, sing, plank, juggle, handstand with a 2.6 or 26 theme…even do it dressed as a superhero (because that’s what you are!)
Make it as fun as you like, just as long as it’s within government guidelines. It’s a marathon effort!
How to take part and be a home hero
- Think of a fundraising activity involving the numbers 26 or 2.6
- Set up your own fundraising page or donate £26 or whatever you can afford
- Ask your friends and family to support you or nominate them to do their own challenge!
- Complete your 2.6 challenge. Most people are taking part on the 26th of April but you can do your activity whenever is convenient for you.
- Don’t forget share a photo or video of your challenge on social media with #TwoPointSixChallenge tagging @actionmedres

Our children need you now more than ever
For children with conditions such as asthma, cystic fibrosis, kidney disease and leukaemia, life is even more challenging at the moment.
Whilst the world is turned upside down by coronavirus, they still need our help - now and always - to develop treatments, vaccinations and cures that could save lives. Research can bring hope to these families.
