Frequently Asked Questions
How does it work?
Action’s Track Attaque is a team challenge. Teams of four take part in the event with one rider per team on the track at any one time. The challenge is to see how many laps your team can complete within the 12 hour clock countdown.
How does the rider changeover work?
Rider changes can only happen within the transition area. The transition area will be clearly marked and marshalled at all times.
Changeovers are left up to each team to work together and devise. This way you can plan your own challenge. There are no minimum laps or time periods for each team member to complete before changing to the next rider.
What time does the challenge start and end?
The challenge starts at 9am and will end at 9pm. The track has floodlights which will be switched on if needed.
What type of bike do I need for the challenge?
This event is for road bikes only. No fixed wheel, time trial, tandems, folding, or e-bikes are allowed.
How old do I need to take part?
You must be at least 16 on the day of the event to take part; if you are under 18 you must be accompanied by an adult.
What facilities are available?
Toilets and changing rooms are available at Herne Hill Velodrome.
Hot and cold food and drinks will also be available to purchase throughout the event from the onsite café and our event vendors.
There is a large, accessible spectator’s area on the first floor of the pavilion, overlooking velodrome for friends and family to come and support.
Is there car parking?
There are a limited number of car parking spaces on site and we would highly recommend coming by bike or public transport unless driving is absolutely necessary.
Do I need insurance?
We recommend that you have appropriate cover for you and your bike. We’ve partnered with Yellow Jersey to provide a 10% discount on their bicycle and travel insurance. You can find out more here.
